Your gift of less than dollar a day will provide a child with Boarding, Loading, Education and Sanskar. Majority of the victims of social ill are from lower income group families and are girls. We can strengthen girls through Support a Child (daughter) option. You can support a child by paying $250.00 a year to meet lodging and boarding expenses.

Support A Child (SAC)

The mission of SAC is to provide education (up to high school), boarding, lodging, medical care and Samskara (values) to the children of under privileged background from different parts of Bharat. The SAC program provides a way to all of us to connect with our roots in Bharat. Give a child the gift of education. Many are waiting for your support. SAC (Support A Child) program was started by World Hindu Council of America (VHPA) in year 1985. Under this program we have been supporting more than 1000+ boys and girls all over Bharat.

These children are selected from remote areas of Bharat, many are orphans and many come from under privileged back ground. Through SAC these children have received the quality education they deserve and have subsequently attended college education, technical education and even advanced degrees like Ph. D. and Doctor of Medicine. Today, many of these children are working as teachers, engineers, doctors and other professionals

With the help of reputed service organizations like Sewa Bharati, Sewa Dham, Ramakrishna Mission and Bharat Kalyan Prathishthan and many more, the SAC team has selected more than 28+ hostels/schools and institutions from 18+ different states. These children stay in the hostels and get education at board certified schools. Along with the quality education, children receive medical aid, healthy/ nutritious food, school supplies, clothing and housing. These children get opportunity to learn, music, art, sports and samsakara (values).

What Do You Receive?

Every year, a progress report of the child with the child’s photograph, details of parents, Class, Name, Percentage of marks secured, performance.

What Does Your Donation Do?

• Supports a child by meeting educational & medical as well as lodging and boarding expenses.
• Your donation of $250 per year provides education, lodging, boarding, including healthcare, books and clothing for needy children of Bharat.
• Each supporting family receive yearly report card of the child and chance to meet the child during your next visit to Bharat.

How to Contribute To Support-A-Child Program?

• By adopting one or more children – paying $250.00 per year for each.
• By introducing this scheme to your friends and relatives.

• SAC connects your child to Bharat.
• They can meet and write to the child through SAC.

• Internship program is available in SAC projects in Bharat.
• Many of SAC team members have visited these selected institutions. We encourage sponsoring families to visit also. SAC team believes this is the great way for us to connect with the roots of .our other land Bharat.
